Hermanus is well over an hour's drive from Cape Town, and a lot of the town is spread out along the coast between Onrus, Sandbaai and Voëlklip. When a car stops running here, the usual choices are a tow truck or a drive you may not trust the car to make. And if you split your time between Hermanus and the city, a car that stands for weeks can fail just when you finally need it.
